Once your yearbook is set-up and you’ve invited your members to join, you need to make sure it’s a success. That means lots of people active on the site and adding content.
Here are some ways to promote the yearbook and get your members involved:
Invite everyone online ASAP: The best way to sell the book is to show it off, so get people logging in and talking about it. Look here for how to invite members online: https://support.allyearbooks.co.uk/addmembers/
Arrange a yearbooking session: Book an IT room and set up the computers (and get in some tea and biscuits). You can ask for permission to do it in a free period and have people just show up and login.
Begin collecting orders: Ask for names and contact details for everyone ordering a yearbook (and keep a good list!). Also start collecting deposits of £5-10 – people will join the book to see what’s on offer!
Posters around the school: Download our poster design from the Help & Support link at the bottom of your online yearbook page – or have fun making designs of your own 🙂
Use Facebook, Twitter, or the social network of your choice: A Facebook group is particularly useful, to update and chase everyone – members can also login through Facebook and pull pictures straight over into the yearbook.
Make your yearbook exciting: Title your collages for events or fun themes to get everyone talking and remembering, run online awards, add a “Friends’ comments” profile question for members to make suggestions to each other – make making the yearbook fun for everyone!
More ways for your members to contribute: Why not run a cover design competition, or offer custom pages that everyone can bid for with their ideas and designs for news articles, stories, artwork, poetry…
